One of the several products that have dual sides to it is bamboo flooring. Although, it is aesthetically very eye-pleasing, it is not as popular as it should be, or advertised in any way whatsoever. Moreover, it is more difficult to find good and useful information on bamboo flooring than on flooring in general or any other kind of hard wood flooring. Let’s check out some of the pros and cons of bamboo floors.

There are many pros of having a bamboo floor style in your home, one of which is, it is beautiful in appearance and also environmentally-friendly. It is the countries way to go “green” where wood flooring styles are concerned. There are also several different styles available to select from. If taken care of properly, it will last for a long period of time. Because bamboo is a plant that grows very fast, the product is readily available and is reasonably priced, too. What’s more, there will be no need to cut down beautiful trees and ruin the greenery and environment just to make hardwood floors.

The bamboo’s main downside is that the wear and tear of this type of flooring is quick and easy. It can be easily scuffed and dented because of its texture. However, it is also a good project to take care of the floor properly. The softness of these bamboo slabs is based on what color you choose. Darker colors are inclined to be marked more easily. The bamboo becomes softer when it is heated. Even though the outer surface has a protective coating, many users feel that this doesn’t help the problem in any way. If in contact with direct sunlight inside your home, it can be bleached and become white in color.

When evaluating bamboo flooring pros and cons it is about the same. Both of them have strong points. Choose your new floors wisely and be on your guard and judge for yourself.
